Ok everyone, how much water do you normaly loose in your one hour boil? I am about to do my first all grain, and just wanted to get an estament on how much wort to start with. I have a 7.5 alluminum pot and turkey fryer propain burner.

I usually lose 1.5 - 2 gallons depending on how high I have the flame.

3 for a 90 minute boil.

That mirrors my experiences as well.

OP - 7.5 is a mite small; get some foam control drops and keep a spray bottle to tame the foam when it threatens to boilover.

I have used the same pot for my AG brews. It is far from ideal; however, once you pass the hotbreak it is easy sailing. Just be careful of boilovers the first 10-15 minutes. I almost damaged my burner once with all the boilovers...had the pot unattended in the garage once for like 3 min brewing a Hefe and it was not pretty. Back on topic - it is dueable but be careful
