Brewed 4/28/2009

Hesitant about doing another 5 gallons in a few weeks as this is not something I would normally drink, but I am going into this with an open mind after all the rave reviews.

12451 + 25 = 12476 - enough to fill one of these:

ORRRRRRRRRR....for those needing a mobile Apfelwein solution....

(Just for visual: a pool that is 16' x 32', oval in shape, 8.5' deep in one end and 3' deep in other end holds 17,370 gallons - we're getting closer!)

Just started my first batch using Whitehouse premium apple juice, the fancy stuff. Only had 28 ounces of corn sugar so I topped off with 4 oz of turbinado. Anyone ever prime this with honey before putting into bottles?

+ my 5 = 12,486

12,487 + 10 = 12,497.

That counts for the 10 gallons I've made so far, I'll be making another 5 tomorrow in honor of my past Mother, a wine and apple lover.

Just pumped out another 5 gallons for Mother's Day.
Planting it on a Hefeweizen yeast cake. WOOO.

Round two. 6 more.

12,518

*ahem*

We've officially passed the 100,000 pint mark. Yambor44 crossed that line.

Second batch in for me as well. My first batch has only been bottled for a week and already getting great feedback on it. Can't wait for a few months of age on it.

12,518 + 5 = 12,523

12,528 + 5 = 12,533. I used washed 3068 yeast. So, while not technically Edwort's Apfelwein, it is definitely inspired by it.

My first batch - went into the brewbucket on 4/28/09. 1.070 SG
After a few weeks of begging, my SWMBO permitted me to brew this in the house - in the furnace room, which strangely enough stays at a nice steady 70 degrees. There was mild rhino fartiness in days 3-6 . . but SWMBO just thought our 2 yr old was dropping bombs. Pretty funny.

12562 + 11 more this month in the primaries = 12,573

(I have been using 4-5 gals apple juice plus a gallon of mixed juices and concentrates, usually cherry peach and pomegranate, with EC-1118 or Cote Des Blanc and getting an unbelievable final product after a couple of months.)
