I have read a couple different opinions about this, but I was going to try decanting this time. I have a 1.5L starter. I was going to keep it on the stir plate for 48 hours and cold crash for 12 hours. Is this to long on the stir plate?

I've used a starter that was 2 weeks old before. It had been sitting in the fridge for most of that time. This is obviously not recommended, but your 48 hours is definitely not too long.

48 hours will not hurt but the starter will usually be done in less than 24 hours.

If anything I would reverse your times somewhat and ferment for 24 hours and chill for 24hrs+.

Yea, on a stir plate I think 24 hrs is good to go.
