I don't have a keg, nor space in the fridge for one so I bottle condition. With the exceptions of say, a hefeweizen that's generally drunk cloudy, what's the best way to carry beer to a friend's house to drink that day/night without having to leave it in the fridge for the yeast to settle?

Could I buy a 2L mini keg, then decant the bottles into the keg and carry that with me to drink that day? Would the carbonation level remain high enough for a few hours without it becoming flat? Or what other cheap(ish) option is there?

I always like to drink some before I go out.

Seriously though, I use a stainless steel growler. There are a few brands out there, some even have provision to provide gas charge. Mine doesn't but it does keep it cold and carbonated long enough, considering it is only 64 oz. There are 32 oz ones too.
