If I'm not making a recipe right away is it a good idea to put your hops in the fridge I put my yeast in there

Yes, it will stay fresh longer in the fridge. Especially if its stored in a UV and oxygen repellant bag

Apparently they do even better in the freezer with the packaging that Maynard mentioned.
I store my dry yeast in the freezer and take it out when I'm starting to brew.
