hops

Im brewing my first batch right now, I have just got it to boil and have added the hops as directed. My question is, do the hops come in 1oz bags as a standard because i was instucted to add 1/2 oz of one type of hops but was given a whole oz is there a mistake. Please hurry I dont have much time to correct this if I am wrong

It would be hard to tell if it was 1oz or 1/2 oz...but don't worry, it will not change the beer a great deal either way. If you added 1 oz, its good !!.

No worries at all.
Just make sure you are watching the pot (not typing) as addtion of hops is the time when boilovers occur.

Hops are good when used properly...then again there are a lot of hopheads around here.

What recipe? What hop? An extra 1/2 oz of east kent for bittering won't make much difference, but columbus, you bet it will.

Many kit makers will pack hops in 1 oz. & 2 oz. bags and just send a 1 oz. bag even if the recipe calls for 1/2 or 1/4 oz.
