Hi all,

I used hop pellets on my current batch. I used finely meshed bags for the hops during the boil. One of the bags came open a little during the boil and some of the hops escaped into the wort. I didn't have a strainer so I didn't worry about it. I checked my primary today and saw that there were alot of hop particles floating on the top. Its been in primary for about a week and a half. Is this a bad thing? I tasted my hydrometer sample and it tasted a little odd. Not a hoppy odd, just a little odd.

The hops are fine. As far as the odd flavor, it's probably just "green". Give it a few weeks. If the hydrometer say's it's done, go ahead and bottle.

when you rack to secondary you will leave most if not all of the particles behind.
at one -two weeks in most beer tastes "odd"
it will definitely improve as time goes by.
