during my past disaster, brew day, my element burned out just after starting my boil..
10 gal all grain Russian River Hill 2 Row 56 clone...
I was doing a 90 min boil... so appx 25 min in the element goes... so its not boiling for about an hour as i had to call a friend to help carry it outside so i could finish on propane burner...
My Question is... my hop additions were 90 min... then another at 30 min then at flameout...
the temp stayed around 190ish until it started to boil again... should I have counted that hour? or is it ONLY when actually boiling that bitters the hops?? just wondering what happened during that hour that it was just sitting at 190ish?
what I did was boiled for about 15 min, then did my 30 and at flameout...
