It's a bummer to come home from work and find that the trellis couldn't take the weight of the Bines..It pays to use galvinized pipe all the way to the top

Your picking just got 1000 times easier though.

You should just say you engineered it that way if anyone asks. Upon reaching flowering, the weight causes it to collapse down automatically for easy harvesting.

You could be a millionaire.
 
Is your hop bush salvageable? Are there catastrophic losses? Or did you luck out and only lose a trellis? Hopefully you still get a decent harvest! My sympathies.
 
Now you have an excuse for rapid and aggressive hopyard expansion! Silver linings!
