Hop spider advice

I just bought a 50L stock pot for extract brewing. It has a 38cm height and I've seen these cheap hop spiders on Aliexpress with a 35cm height.

Is that 3cm gap from the bottom of the brew kettle to the hop spider (just over 1") going to be enough or will the hops scorch or anything by being too close?

An inch should be plenty. Having experimented with spider height off the kettle bottom I found the spider has to be in contact or very nearly so to trap wort enough for it to scorch...
