Hop Rod Yeast

Does anybody know if Bear Republic's Hop Rod has a live strain in it? There is a lot of sediment on the bottom, but the bottle mentions sediment from hops(not sure if there is any yeast in all that). If it does have a live strain in it, does anybody know what it is? The reason i ask is because i recently started making slants, and i figure if i have the yeast in the bottle I might as well use it.

Inoculate a slant. If it grows, there's yeast in it!

Better yet would be to pour a plate and streak that, so that you isolate only one colony.

True, but does anybody know what kind of yeast it is?
