Been wanting to grow some hops for a while. It just so happens my soil here in iowa is perfect. Anyway, I'm a newbie, so naturally where can I find seeds or better yet how do I get started.

What you are looking for is rhizomes (it`s a piece of the root of a specific type of hop). Our LHBS in dubuque sells them in the spring. I am not sure if there are and any home brew shops by you but that is where I would start. Otherwise most of the online stores also sell them. They don`t normally start selling them until spring.

citra is a proprietary hop, so there isn`t a legal way of getting a rhizome. But if you know where they grow some and feel like a midnight raid you could get some. :p

also here is arrowhead hops rhizomes page if you want to order http://arrowheadhops.com/?page_id=79 you could always email them to see what they will have and prices.

also I know jerry at bluff street brew haus in dubuque get a few varieties if you want to make a trip. http://www.bluffbrewhaus.com/ His email is at the bottom of the page, you could always email him and see what he can get his hands on or what he is going to stock next year. :mug:
