Hello all,

I'm relatively new to home brewing, only a few batches under my belt. But I researched the forums, read books, articles, everything I could before I started even my first batch.

I opted out of buying any kits and just pieced together my own supplies(wort chiller, kettle, etc, etc)

I've loved what I've made so far, even this early in my brewing experiences I decided I liked doing just a long primary.

Anyway, back to topic. I am an avid foodie, I've been cooking all sorts of different food styles from around the world. Indian food, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Spanish Tapas, German, South American Tapas, American fair, French, Fusion, etc.

Anyway, I work in the film business and a few years back a client invited my crew to go to a beer tasting. All the beers were paired with unique foods. For instance a German Bacon Beer was gross by itself, but delicious with some german smoked sausage. Others were really good with other types of foods. IE, a Belgian style beer with Belgian cheese and bread is AMAZING. Both the food and the beer while maybe ordinary on its own taste wonderful when consumed together. Think of it like wine pairing.

There is a scientific and cosmic reason for this, Salmon is good with Dill because dill is found in similar regions where salmon resides. Same with a grain style or brew style is found in a region where similar hops are found naturally in the wild. So these flavors naturally compliment each other, because their chemical makeup is under the same environmental conditions.

So I want to take this a step further, we as a community create a list of food pairings to great beer styles found across the globe. Recipes and food styles should ideally be region specific. But not necessarily. Here is an exception to the rule.

I just brewed an English style Brown Nut Ale, you could serve it with fish and chips(or any other traditional british recipe) or you could serve it with Chicken Tikka Masala, an Indian dish but that dish was british/indian hybrid. Meaning the dish wasn't invented until Indian immigrants traveled to England. Much like General Tso's chicken really isn't Chinese, but rather invented in San Francisco by Chinese immigrants.

Basically I want to avoid the "This beer goes great with muh homemade wings recipe!"

So lets have at it! What would you serve with your latest beer? Include pictures and recipes and your reasonable research of region for the pairing. :pipe:

Ah crap, posted this in the wrong forum. Thought I was in the right one. If a mod could move it that'd be awesome.
