home made kegerator project

Any one have a suggestion on a max hight for a wooden collar on a freezer type kegerator? I need a 10" collar to get everything to fit. Is this to large? Also should i go with a 5lb co2 tank or a 10lb tank?

I believe you can make the collar and height you want.
Just get a sheet of "pink board" (1" insulation) and put it on the inside of the collar.
As for tank size, that kind of depends on how much you think you may need/use before you want to get it refilled/exchanged.
