Hi everyone. I'd doing an all grain batch tomorrow using some 2-row, amarillo hops and the standard munton's ale yeast (kind of a quick throw together for fun). I wanted to add some cinnamon to make it a bit different for the winter season.

I've read ground cinnamon is bad to use, does anyone know why? If I have to use sticks, how many should I use? I want the cinnamon to be noticeable, but not overpowering.

I think that ground cinnamon can have a lot more 'bite' and a little bit of a harsher flavor. I have always used sticks and for a 5 gallon batch, I have used 6 to 8 inches in the boil with great results.

Where in MA are you?
