Things I find stupid:
Tickers
Chicago pours
Untapped checkins
Obsessive traders
Tasting groups
Whale hunters
Todd
Lines
Lotteries
Exclusive clubs
Tom cruise

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol was pretty damn good man. Haven't seen Rogue Nation yet but reviews are quite positive.

I actually met Mike this weekend at Night of Great Thirst and thought he was a good guy and he and his crew were good company. He was generous enough to pour me some '15 Blåbær, which was very kind of him. Clearly I am not biased at all .

I stand by my surprise about the pre-trades nonetheless. I would reckon a huge percentage of people who won this lottery will only end up with one Cuvee, which was probably to an extent the Shaun's intention. (...obligatory indy is a jerk ...)

That in mind it just seems to me someone provides you with a single beer they are immensely proud of and you say 'yes, now I get to trade this for other beers I am more interested in!' they might not be pleased. ****, I often feel awkward trading away beers that people have sent me that I have already ticked a bunch or have multiples of simply because they might see the post and feel like I am displeased or ungrateful.
I would think my trade proposal doesn't fall into the same generalization as I only want to trade for a different beer that Shaun is immensely proud of; one that I previously struck out on earlier this year.

Crickets so far has me thinking I'll get to enjoy Flora Cuvee multiple times with multiple friends who didn't win.

indy, you are just a jerk for winning them all.
Agreed.

I'm personally surprised so many are so brazen as to post those pre-trades. Just seems to me Shaun is really passionate about making an arguably fair and wide distribution of Flora Cuvee and Ann in some part due to his pride in these beers. As such, I can't imagine he loves 'the zenith of flora' immediately turned into a bargaining chip. That paired with his detest for the commoditization of his beers and the secondary market, I can't imagine this is anything short of taboo despite Shaun being cool with beer trading in general.

Similar to trading away ultra covetted club-only beers at certain other breweries, just seems like it might not foster a great relationship with the hand that feeds.

Being in Colorado I'm seeing the genesis of this with certain Casey releases (Cuts in particular), and I share the concern. The days of casually driving up on release day in Glenwood Springs and getting bottles are over. But as someone who LOVES Hill Farmstead beers and lives 2000 miles away, I'd be SOL without HF traders, most of whom are completely reasonable with their demands. I pre-traded for both Ann and Flora Cuvee, and didn't give up decade old lambics in either case. I'm just saying, there's a good-natured side to this trading business as well, and one that generally happens in PM's and nobody sees. Not all lotto winners are dirtbags trying to maximize. Some just want to try new beer. The dirtbags definitely get all the attention though.

I am glad that enthusiasts like yourself get to share the love and your Westly was a bonafide serious offer.

I expressed my surprise at the pre-trades simply because I figured there was at least a chance of offending the creator of the beer. At most a chance of jeopardizing receiving the bottle at all if he decided otherwise (legality?).
I was merely surprised.

Who knows- Shaun could just look and think 'these suckers are pre-trading something that is going to blow their dicks right off for adjunct stouts' and be done with it. (I'm almost certain he would not say exactly this.) IF he even was aware of such posts at all.

As expressed in different terms earlier, I would not call Mike a dirtbag. Good dude, though that trade thread/lock does suck.

Shaun didn't give me my Ann personally, I feel cheated. (It was probably a brewday because I picked it up on a weekday, not on Saturday).

Did not win Ann at all personally. Only entered one day of the raffle and none for Cuvee.
jomobono told me he and his wife picked theirs up from Shaun or something. I'll remove that part of the prior message if that was not a consistent thing for other folks like yourself.

looks like the two new HF beers have names now: IPL is "song of joy" and the altbier is "DoppelAltStickeWeiss"

I need that Song of Joy... have to go up soon...
going to VT this weekend, and going to try to get a Hill trip in. If that's the case I can grab you a growler if you wanna drive to CT instead of VT...

I drove up on Thursday to pick mine up and then I drove up with Jenn to pick hers up on Saturday. Shaun was there on Saturday, he didn't give me mine personally but I know he made it just for me.

Rejecteddd on Zwanze tickets. Was hoping to make it a weekend up there with the girlfriend, as Zwanze is her birthday this year. If anyone can spare tickets, who may have gotten an extra pair, please drop me a line.
