Hey guys I'm new to this forum so bare with me. I just brewed a Christmas ale and the OG came out at 1.084 and I think it's going to be too high. This was a 4 gallon boil with a 3 gallon fermentation. Am I in trouble with this beer? Do I need to add more water? Can I add more water seeing rapid fermentation has started? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

My calculations showed it should have been around 1.069. Is it going to be too boozy?

Hmmm... Might be a bit unbalanced at that OG. Extract batch? If you have room in the fermenter you could top off a little... Maybe to 1.075 so as not to water it down too much.

1.069 would be unbalanced or the OG i actually got? Fermentation has already started and it's fermenting well. Can I still add water to the fermenting wort?
