I just racked my Hefe to the secondary and this is the most sediment I've seen yet. Maybe a combo of the yeast and all of the wheaty particulants?

It sure seemed that the secondary (after I racked it) had less beer that the stout did last week.

Is it due to twice the sediment that I left behind in the primary.

Is there any way to compensate the volume loss without sacrificing flavor? Just wondering.

Only by increasing the initial size of the batch. I've never quite figured out why sediments vary so much. Identical batches aren't. But, a nearly full cornie is just fine with me, so I don't worry.

do u all adjust the recipe to six gallons or just add more water?
