I'm only on my second batch; looking forward to many more. Being that the "find HBTers" thread isn't fully functional yet, anyone have any tips for finding other local homebrewers? I'm in Norwalk, CT. -Mike

Just joined CRABS, thanks! And thanks for the link, too. Unfortunately all are pretty far, except Cochia's, which is in a really bad neighborhood (occasional shootings, etc.). I've been there twice and it's not pleasant. The first time, I came out to find my car covered in hot sauce, and just recently I had to side step someone passed out on the sidewalk on the way in. Another guy was slapping him in the face to try to wake him. I just never feel safe going there. Anyway, I'm happy to have found this forum, Mike

Welcome Mike,
Recently on How Stuff Works on the Discovery channel, there was an episode on beer.. They featured the owner of Maltose Express in Monroe, CT, which is about a half hour from Norwalk.

I wonder if I was in that same neighborhood years ago... The one time I was in Norwalk, my friend's rear window got smashed and they stole a $600 amplifier!

Awesome! Maltose Express has a site that I just checked out and I'm definitely going to take a ride there soon. Thanks!

Welcome from New Haven, Mike.
I think that Maltose Express is our best "local" option. I believe that there is another shop up near Hartford, but I can't say for sure, being a noob to all of this. I have heard that Maltose has a good selection, but the prices are a little high.

Welcome Mike!

Originally from Durham, CT. Pretty sure there is a big Wine & Beer Homebrew store in or near Hartford if you are ever in that area. You can always make some orders with the many online vendors. (I'm partial to NorthernBrewer, but Austin Homebrew Supply is also very popular on the board).
