My name is Kevin and I'm new to homebrewing. So far I have only made beer with a Mr. Beer kit, but I'm enjoying it and want to upgrade. I can't wait to explore the site and learn!

Seriously though, you're in the right place. I highly suggest browsing through this whole place as much as your free time suggests. There is an encyclopedic amount of knowledge here. When I decided that I wanted to start brewing, I realized after about a month of doing research that I should just sign up and get an account here. Seemed like every google search I did gave me this site as the top 3 results.

I saw a thread recently about listening to the oldtimers here and how it paid off. Ignore the newbie jitters, search all over this place as much as possible (because it's almost guaranteed that somebody has asked the question you're about to, or has had the same problem), and pay attention to the big posters here.

I actually get upset when I'm searching about beer and I don't get an answer from HBT.

Most of my beer related queries now include the keyword "homebrewtalk" just out of habit.
