In designing my HERMS system, I was assuming I would fly sparge. Is there any reason why batch sparging wouldn't work? I assume you could just recirculate after the sparge water is added. However, would the lack of stirring be an issue resulting in the need to fly sparge? (I dont really want to add a stirring mechanism).

Thanks

I think an integral part of the "batch sparge" process is the stirring between additions. You will see a loss of eff. without it, to what degree I do not know.
