Kombucha mother + fermented beer = soured beer? Piss?

Anybody skulking about here tried this yet? I may have to give this a whirl.

I thought the same thing. I would imagine it would taste like a mix of beer and malt vinegar. I was going to buy a cheap kit to test it out, I will let you know once I get around to it.

Actually a local brewery in Fullerton, CA threw a kombucha mother into a bourbon barrel full of wild ale. It got very sour, actually turned out pretty decent, but the sourness was pretty one-note.

I did a couple of test-mixes with my Dark Horse and some very aged (3-4 months) kombucha. Didn't find a ratio that really appealed to me, however I'd be willing to give it a try with a small batch and a piece of mother for a week or two before chilling. Will have to report once done!
