I am about to start another batch this weekend, but I wanted to get some input from you guys before I began. I am going to be brewing a high IBU APA. Here is what I have so far:

4 lbs. Alexander's Light Syrup
3 lbs. Munton's Amber DME
.5 lbs. Crushed Briess Crystal 60L
White Labs British Ale Yeast

Now for the hops, here is what I have available:

2 oz. Columbus
2.5 oz. Centennial
0.75 oz. Cascade

Can anyone recommend a good schedule using the hops that I have specified? I don't have to use all of them, but I am a hop-head, so I'd like the higher IBU's. Thanks in advance! :mug:

I'd do:
1 oz. columbus at 60 min
1 oz. centennial at 45 min
1 oz. columbus at 30 min
1/2 oz. centennial at 15 min
1/2 oz. centennial at 5 min.
1/2 oz. centennial at flame out
dry hop with the cascade

Thanks for the reply. Do you think that I have enough fermentables to accommodate such high IBU's?

Sounds good, thanks a lot for the help, guys. I'm just finishing up with sanitizing and about to start my boil!

Looks like I forgot exactly which hops I had. Here is what I really have:

2 oz. Columbus
1 oz. (ish) Centennial
2.25 oz. Cascade

I guess I'll just substitute some of the hops into the same schedule like this:

1 oz. Columbus @ 60 min.
1 oz. Centennial @ 45 min.
1 oz. Columbus @ 30 min.
.5 oz. Cascade @ 15 min.
.5 oz. Cascade @ 5 min.
.5 oz Cascade @ 0 min.

Dry hop with the remaining cascade.

Sound good?
