I'm trying to go from my spund valve to a sanke. This is a picture of what I want to do.

Here's a picture of the parts I have:

Here's the part I got from mcmaster.com

50675K161 Brass 37 Degree Flared Tube Fitting Adapter for 1/4" Tube OD X 1/8" NPT Male Pipe

Unfortunately, I realize now I probably have the wrong part as this is meant for 1/4" OD tube and my hose barb is 5/16". Is there a way I can make this work? Or can you recommend a way for me to get from the 1/8" NPT male pipe fitting to the sanke gas in?

Really appreciate it. I'm not much good with fittings, especially gas.

According to micromatic the thread size on this thing is 7/8" 14 thread.

Here's the link

I can't seem to find any 7/8" fittings, period. WTF mcmaster.com?

I'm considering buying THIS

I would connect the two hose barbs with a piece of 5/16" hose. Doesn't seem like a great solution, but right now I can find nothing else at all. I can't find a single fitting that's 7/8" and reducing to npt.

I'll keep looking. If anyone has info I'd appreciate it.

I'd say take both fittings to your local Homedepot or Lowes, head back to the plumbing section where they have the fittings and see if you can find a series of pieces that may work. I'm thinking that you may be able to replace that flare fitting with a hose barb so you can go hose to hose...

Just an update. I figured out that the thread size of the keg coupler is actually 5/8", but BSP thread (British Standard). I've found some adapters at Mcmaster.com, but man are they pricey. For some reason they only sell them in the precision milled variety.

Here are the ones I need:

Ahh, crap. I can't seem to link to it. Will try again later. Probably going to go hose to hose as these two fittings would cost about $40 total.

I think I can use a 1/4" mfl fitting as well. Does anyone know what kind of fittings I can use with the mfl? Or is it just for liquid quick connects?

Thanks.

You would have a much easier time configuring your setup if you replaced the barb tail piece:

With a 1/4" flare tail piece.

Northern Brewer carries the piece - LINK - (I'm sure other places do as well).

I setup my keg taps this way. Here is the overview.

For yours, once you get the tailpiece, you just need to come up with a
1/4" female flare to female flare fitting (Ace, Lowes, ??) and you are good to go.
