I figured if I didn't clarify the title the advice would be

1) Fire/Divorce your wife
2) Meet single girls
3) Give them homebrew
4) ......

So, I've brewed the coopers stout kit to the T and I like the flavor, but still the beer is not as thick as I'd like and doesn't hold that thick froth I've come to love from a good stout. While I'm partial to Murphy's/Mackeson's I don't frown on a guiness draft either. I want something that is semi-sessionable like Murphy's...

My local HBS store has the following...which one would you recommend for the froth factor!?!? (I'm leaning towards the oatmeal, but am considering the traditional irish...milk just seems too sweet)

Stop calling it stout. She knows it really isn't anyway.

As for getting more head on the beer, pour it down the center of the glass. You gotta work it a bit to get it stiff enough to stand up.

I read on another thread that it helps to add more ME than the kit calls for. So I brewed the batch without the table/corn sugar and used three pounds of dry extract (just light malt extract) and it was decent. The other thing I've heard about is maltodextrin. Don't know much about it though. Good luck!

Steep some carapills or add maltodextrine. Gonna get so much head.
