Hi folks,

I'm totally new to wine making but I picked up a Munton's kit recently that was heavily reduced so I thought I'd give it a go.

It's a Sauvignon Cabernet red 23 ltr kit. I've filled the bucket slightly over the requirements by about 3ltrs (was to busy talking at the time ) added the yeast and gave a good slosh about. Put the bung and valve thing in the top and so far no fermentation. It doesn't need any sugar as I think that must have been in the jerry can of syrup/concentrate.

Now, I don't know whether its the extra water I added or if I need to add more yeast, but its now been on 8 days and nothings happening. There's a few bubbles in the valve but nothing significant.

Has anyone had this before? How did you solve it?

I don't want to abandon it as I've bought the kit and bucket etc.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mart

Don't worry about bubbles, I'm new to this but was worried like you and my first batch was superb, just follow rest of instructions
