I am just getting started with this hobby. My wife bought me an equipment kit and a Hefe kit as a early XMAS gift.

My wife and I have been talking for a while about me getting into this hobby, but we have been putting it off because we live in a townhome. I didn't think we had enough space for all the equipment.

Anyway, my wife got tired of hearing me talk about it so she just went out and bought the stuff.

Now I can't wait to get started!!! :ban:

I am reading a lot of the posts on this site and read the information on howtobrew.com. So hopefully I will not mess up my first brew.

I guess I will have to let you all know how it goes when I finish it.

Welcome and good luck with your first brew.
Do some research here and follow instructions and you should have no problems. Let us know how it turns out. :mug:

Welcome. Looks like you are off to a good start if the wife already bought the gear for you - that is half the battle won!!

I am in Portsmouth (Churchland section).

There is a good Homebrew shop in Norfolk called 'HomebrewUSA' its located in the Janif shopping center off Virginia Beach Blvd. The owner is pretty cool and theyll hook you up.

Heres some links too somewhat local online ordering places that I use...
http://www.ebrew.com/
http://www.grapeandgranary.com/

And here are some other not-so-local places that are really good too...
http://www.williamsbrewing.com/
http://www.midwestsupplies.com/
http://www.northernbrewer.com/

A good idea is to call all these places and ask for a catalogue which theyll send you for free and these have all kinds of good info in them about brewing, ingredients, etc...

Welcome..!!!! I'm in Virginia Beach... Mike at HomeBrewUSA is a great guy... I'd definitely tell you to check his place out...
