I started brewing in the late '80's with extracts and over the next decade I worked my way up to 50lb sacks, hop pellets by the pound, and a kegging system. The birth of my first daughter in '99 brought an end to my free time and my brewing career.
Now that the kids are old enough to be somewhat lower maintenance, the thought of resuming brewing has been gnawing at me. So, during my current bout of insomnia, I googled homebrewing forum and here I am.
Even though I may not resume any time soon (Summer is approaching for one thing), I'd like to find out the current state of the homebrewing scene. One thing I've noticed is that ingredients seem somewhat more pricey that I remember. A universal consequence of growing old, I guess.
Anyway, thanks for your time. I'll try not to make a nuisance of myself.
