Greetings one and all, name's Mike.
I've been out of the home brewing scene for a while now, but it looks like it's about time to get back into it. I haven't done a batch in probably 15 years now, but my brother and I used to do them frequently. Mostly 5 gallon extract or partial-mash batches, using my brother's equipment. Other interests got in the way and I haven't thought about brewing in quite some time, but lately my wife's been hinting that she'd like to try it.
So with some urging from TasunkaWitko I bought a 1 gallon kit from Brooklyn Brew Shop, should be here by next weekend. I figured it was a good way to introduce the wife to it without all the hassle of a full 5 gallon batch. Hopefully she'll like it and we can start purchasing our own equipment and make it a family hobby. I like the fact that the Brooklyn Brew Shop kit is an all-grain kit, so that'll be a new experience for me and I'm looking forward to it.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I'll probably be back with questions as I re-learn everything I've forgotten.
Cheers!
-Mike
