Hey there everybody. I am new to brewing and I am absolutely obsessed with it.
I spent a year and a half living in the South Pacific and we only had a few choices of beer there. All three of them were absolutely horrible. As soon as I got back to the main land I started looking into homebrewing so that I would never find myself in that situation again.
I bottled my first batch in late December and had my first home made beer on January 6th. I felt as if I had never truly tasted beer before. It was that good! Since then I have been obsessed. I have added lots of toys to my beer equipment and already find myself fantasizing about running my own microbrew (or at least working at one).
Right now I have a Kolsch beer brewing in three separate 2 gallon buckets. One bucket has blueberries, one has cocoa (it was boiled for an extra 15 min), and the third is the normal Kolsch recipe.
This weekend I am starting an Oktoberfest. Sometime in the near future I am going to make a beer using Passion Fruit and another beer with Huckleberries. If anyone has a good huckleberry recipe please share (the best I ever had was made by the Coeur d'Alene Brewing Company in Idaho).
