Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My name is Steve and I love beer.

Just brewed my first batch yesterday. She is down in the cellar fermenting as I type. Looking forward to learning from all of you guys with much more experience.

We're getting quite a group of buckeyes together on here! Lots to read up on here with beer, food, wine, mead, etc. :mug:

Greetings from a Buckeye in south Central Ohio, Chillicothe, presently fermenting batch #7, a Hop Sun Clone.

Great work, what was it you made yesterday?

First off thanks for all the warm welcomes, or cold frothy ones!

It was a pale ale I brewed up on Saturday. Kinda worried about it though. I was getting signs of fermentation as far as bubbling in the air lock within 24 hours. The bubbling has already stopped. Is this normal? I thought the bubbling would get more intense before stopping. Oh well, just going to wait patiently for at least a week before I really start to freak out.

Not a problem! Only initial, robust fermentation is over. It'll now slowly, uneventfully creep down to a stable FG. At that point, give it 3-7 days to settle out clear or slightly misty before bottling.

Welcome from another Buckeye! One great thing about Central Ohio is the number of breweries around the area - just tried a Zauber Vertigo Saturday night and it was tasty. Currently fermenting a pale ale with roasted coconut and key lime (aka Beach bomber)
