Heffe kegging proposal.

I'm going to be kegging a hefe in a couple days and I want it to remain nice and cloudy. My idea, or maybe someone else' idea, is to run a tube from the "gas in" dip tube down to the bottom of the keg to stir up the sediment any time gas is going into the keg. Am I in for trouble? Or just good, cloudy heffe?

Meh, not really necessary imo. It will take a good month to get crystal clear. You can always just tip the corny and give it a swirl.

+1. Drink it fresh and you'l have haze. I've got a hefe on tap right now and it'd been in the kegerator for at least 3 weeks. Still quite hazy.

I went against everyones advice and put the tube in anyway. DONT DO IT!!!! First off, when applying initial pressure to the keg, the top took a couple seconds to seal and then a crap ton of foam started coming out of it. not good! After it got sealed and carbed correctly everything was OK. Then I lowered to pressure on another keg to bottle some using the BM technique and then BLAM!!!!!!!! Even though the CO2 splitter that I got from more beer said it had check valves, I had beer coming in through my CO2 in ports!! Bottom line, don't do this, kids. Learn from my mistake!

That was going to be my advice upon reading the title. Make sure you have check valves.
