Hi All
I Recently read that installing an Electrical heating element is not recommended because of the Electrolysis process, is it correct?
if so will an external hot plate is possible (as there is no direct contact with the water)?
Thanks

There are several brewers on this forum that use an aluminum pot with an electric element. It works just fine.

I've done about 20 batches with an aluminum pot and 5500W element. No problems whatsoever. Hardest part is threading the nut on the element as aluminum pots are thicker than SS, so can sometimes take a bit of fiddling to get it to bite properly.
