Hey yall, I am trying to install a motorized ball valve on my hlt to keep it full with a float level switch. The motorized ball valve I purchased, http://misolie.com/showshop.asp?id=450, has 5 wires and is rated for 110v ac. I am trying to get this to have the valve stay open normally and close when the float switch, http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/120/560/=qckusp, is engaged. Any help and input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would think that you need to use the SPST float switch to control the solenoid of a DPST relay. The SPDT relay would represent SW in the ball valve diagram. Wiring would depend on the float switch's normal condition chosen, ie. normally open or normally closed. The SPDT relay could be controlled with low voltage through the SPST float switch, which would make the system a bit safer in a wet environment. Although, 110vac would work fine if weatherized.

Get a SPDT float switch, connect the ball valve common to the float common.
The NO and NC float connection go to the ball valve.
If the float switch turns ON on low level, connect NO to Open on the ball valve.
The NC connects to Close.
