made a scottish ale saturday (now monday morning) using wyeast 1728 with a 1L starter.
the OG should have been 1.074 but ended up being 1.094 :)drunk::rockin::confused:) ....anyway I had good krausen and heavy activity starting in just a few hours. Normally, the activity seems to peak on the second day so I awoke this morning expecting to see a full 3" krausen....it had already fallen. Is this normal with this yeast? It's my first time using 1728 and I know different yeasts behave in mysterious ways but I have yet to see krausen drop completely in 36 hours...

Not sure cause it's been 5 years since I last used it, but it was my only batch to ever blow out the airlock. SO perhaps it works quick. Why not pull a sample?

Were the temps pretty stable?

Some yeasts can blast through initial fermentation quite rapidly. S-04 is another fast one. From my experiences, it could very well be past initial fermentation. It'll now slowly, uneventfully creep down to a stable FG.

it's only been 36 hours, i wouldn't do anything with it for at least 3 more weeks regardless of a reading. just my MO
