I brewed my first batch last saturday night(american amber) by brewers best.
About 16 hrs or so after I sealed the fermentor the airlock started bubbling pretty consistanly( about 5 times a min) after about a day it stoped bubbling all together. Is somthing wrong?

The only way to check fermentation for sure is to take a hydrometer reading. Don't rely on the air lock activity.

No, that sounds about right! I've had ales ferment out in 24 hours, and others take 3-5 days. If you pitched the yeast at a warm temperature, fermentation can really take off.

Anyway, it sounds like it's doing fine. Check the SG in a week or two to make sure it's finished.

Yooper is dead balls right.

+10 Yoops!

Some yeasts do a massive fermentation over 24 hours and then back off.

Give this guy 3 days after fermentation has visually subsided, then do your SG read to see if your OG has moved half way or already at the FG.:mug:
