Has anyone used the second running's to make a weaker, lighter beer?

I know why would you want to do that!!!!

Just thinking of making a lighter beer with the second running's to keep me from drinking the good stuff before it is ready.

I have no patience!!!!

Yes, it is one of the earliest styles of brewing...It's called partigyle...There's a ton of threads on it...

I use second runnings for a light base for meads/braggots, I also collect it and use it for yeast starters.
I think the next (Big beer) I do I'll try it if I can get two primary fermenter's free at the same time.

What about the use of 2nd runnings as strikewater for another brew? Something like sparging a IIPA and use second runnings as the stike for a IPA? As long as the PH is good that is.

I only make 5 gallon brews, so I need the second runnings to make up my volume.

i used the last of my second runnings, and boiled em down to make a big beer starter for my next batch.

never thought of makin beer with it tho...hmmm
