I'm in the midst of a speed brewing experiment right now and I have a "finishing" question.
My wife and I have some friends coming into town this weekend and we thought it would be fun to try a 1 week grain to glass English bitter. Leave it to Murphy - the only time I have ever really wanted it out of the fermenter quickly, it smells really sulfury. I've had plenty a rhino fart in my beer room, but this is by far the worst. It's almost like rotten flesh...
The gravity is still dropping and I have 3 days left before our friends arrive, but in my (little) experience and a lot of reading, it seems sulfur usually takes several weeks to dissipate.
I have a 5 micron airstone that will be here this week and I was thinking about scrubbing the beer with CO2 before kegging.
Has this worked for anyone? If so, how well?
If not, I have no problem with waiting it out until it clears and drinking MORE BEER!
Cheers
