I've been watching some videos in harvesting yeast from commercial beers. Is this process possible with any commercial beer? I would think the filtering would eliminate most of the yeast.

bottled or cask conditioned beers are easy
homogenized beers are not possible
filtered beers depends on how well filtered

I've successfully harvested from Sierra Nevada, rouge, and bells brewery. It's a fun exercise, but prepare to step up at least 3-4 times before you get a good population. There is also no guarantee that the yeast conditioning the bottle is the same as the fermenting yeast.

The one video I watched the guy fed it twice and then put it in a starter
