I am going to brew up some centennial blonde ale tomorrow, the instructions call for adding .25 oz cascade hop pellets at 50 min into boil and .25 oz at 55minutes . Could I substitute the fresh hops that I picked? If so how much and when should I add the fresh hops considering the instructions?

I hear about ratios (1:6 is a popular one) - but 1.5oz of fresh hops hardly seems enough.

I recently brewed an APA with Hops that my plant produced this year. I went with a 5:1 ratio for Aroma, which was approximately 7.5 oz. I had 7.3 harvested so that was pretty close. It hasn't finished in the fermenting keg just yet but a pre-bottling taste has it tasting pretty much like a Hoppy APA.

If the recipe calls for .25 oz at each of those times, then 1.25 oz of fresh hops at each of those times in the boil should be alright.
