Guess the Song

Time for vagueness. Driving me nuts finding this song. Heard at store and stuck in my head.

It's an alternative song from the 90's or early 2000's.

Male vocal. A little dark but very pop sounding overall.

I don't know any lyrics but the chorus is non-lyric and is something like

uuuuuu AHHHH uuuuu AHHHH uuu uuu uuu uuu

It's not any mainstream band or even popular one hit wonder like Crash Test Dummies.

Any guesses?

I'm huge into music so I will look around.

Without doing anything...my first suggestion would be to look over the "Buzz Ballads" albums. They are basically a large collection of songs you never knew the name or artist from the 90's haha

There is a cool app for ANY phone (even my $7 LG) that will recognize a song by just holding your phone near the sound source. It's really remarkable. Too late now, but you should check this out. On my Verizon phone it's called VCast Song ID.

One other clue is the non-chorus part features some guitar work where they strum just a single cord and let it hang.

The non-chorus is slower with some single strum cords that hang. Darker in tone. Standard rock setup. Guitar, bass, drums.

Then when the chorus of uuuu AHHH uuuu AHHH uuu uuu start it gets more upbeat and faster.

Nope not the Knack. It's going to be a very obscure band. It def. got airplay but I don't think it went too high.

It may be that they have heard it so much they are sick of it.

Some stores like that don't use a radio station or anything like it. The music is on a loop. The same song will come up every couple hours.
