CTZ...Columbus, Tomahawk, or Zeus....they all have very similar profiles. you'll have to look up their stats and verify for yourself if any of there stats are more to your liking...I could tell you to grow columbus it has Aroma: Specific aroma descriptors include black pepper, licorice, curry and subtle citrus. Tomahawk has Aroma: Specific aroma descriptors include pungent, black pepper, licorice, curry and subtle citrus. And then Zues has Aroma: Specific aroma descriptors include pungent, black pepper, licorice, and curry. What flavors do you find out of these 3 that favor you more? What beer do you like and what hop is utilized in it's making? Hard questions for all us out here to try and answer for you.....you should also reach out to folks living around you that grow hops and see what is successful for them. You never know...columbus just might not like your soil. just my 2 cents.

Both Columbus and Zeus are the same variety. Genetically speaking anyways. One was stolen and released as a new variety.

Tomahawk is related in some manner, but the secret is yet to be revealed.

My apologies, it's C and T that are the same. Z is related (likely a progeny or grandchild, I'm not sure how closely-related it is).

I grow Zeus. It does the trick in my IPAs. It acts as a Columbus substitute. It is very pungent and strong, high alpha for bittering, dank when used late in the boil. I like it.
