I've been brewing beer for about 10 years but got a lot more involved when I retired a few years ago. I really enjoy learning from other brewers. Am a bit isolated here, so these forums are a godsend. As a mechanical engineer, I especially enjoy the process aspects of brewing. Heating, cooling, temperature control, pumps, heat exchangers, gravity measurements - what could be more exciting! 
Of course, making and drinking a good beer is the icing on the cake.
