Grains of Paradise, How much?

Gathering up ingredients for another ed worts haus pale, and I stumbled on to some grains of paradise. I've been wanting to try this spice for a while and Eds Haus Pale seems like a perfect recipe to make that addition.

I ordered .5 oz. Should I use the whole .5 oz (.25oz last 10min / .25oz last 5min is my thought.)

Has anyone used Grains of Paradise in a light american pale ale and cascade hops.

I always start a 1g / gallon if I'm not sure how much to use. That's usually enough. Sometimes I'll add up to 2g / gallon in a rebrew, but I seldom go that high. I subscribe to the "if you can tell what spice it is, you used too much" school of thought.
