Got a HUGH starter going and I'm hoping to save enough for my next 4 batches or so. 1/2 gal starter!

Have a great Brewday!

I'll be doing my first AG brew today, but not til 2:00 when SWMBO goes to work. I have two AG kits, a SNPA from Austin HB and a Pumpkin Ale kit from Midwest. I was gonna do the SNPA first, but I think I'll do the pumpkin first instead, to get it conditioning for the Thanksgiving family feast. I may actually just go buy another primary bucket and brew again tomorrow! :mug:

I am jealous. I will not be brewing this weekend. Have house things to do, and homework for school.

Mash did not go as well as I had hoped.
I was a bit high in temp, so it looks like I'll have a lower than expected alcohol, and fuller than expected taste. Guess I'll be able to drink more and still be able to stand upright!

So I'm about 6.75 gal into my 8 gal pot.
Watch out for boilovers!

My OG should be better once I boil down to 5 or 6 gal.

Whoo Hoo. You guys are up early! I slept in till 7:30, put my MLT preheat water on and went down and fed the horses. Moved my valve over to the new Home Depot Water cooler (doesn't say HD anywhere on it, but it is orange & white) and now it's warming up for the mash.

First crack at House Pale Ale, here we come.

Great cold break from my homemade 50' 1/4 inch imersion chiller.
My "Killerchiller"
Down to 147 in 5 min!

Wort smells great with a good ginger nose.

Should be ready to rack to the primary in about 30 min.
Looks like I got 5 to 5.5 gal.

Wah! I'm off to a Highway cleanup with the Heart of the Valley brew club. Kraut, sausage & beer after, so not too bad.

Got 5.25 gal at 1.054
Lots of trub!

Pitched a very large starter that has at krausen.
Should see some activity soon!

Now off to get breakfast!

I'm in Tecumseh, MI

Had a couple of containers of Breiss pilsner malt extract.
Had some leftover hops, galena, Hallataur, and fuggles
Had about half a pound of very old crystal 60
Had the second half of the massive starter I used yesterday.

What to do? Brew of course!
