I did a Hefe a couple weeks ago for SWMBO and had hoped to rack it onto some berries today. It had been covered with a t-shirt and I really hadn't looked at it since brew day. This morning I was going to check gravity and noticed it looked a little off, like it has separated or something.

It was a pretty simple recipe.

6lb Wheat DME
4oz Maltodextrine
1oz Hersbrucker
Safbrew WB-06

OG was 1.048.

It has been fermenting in the primary for almost 2 weeks @ 64*>>>>72*, slowly warming to room temps.

Any ideas why it looks like a big ol' yeast starter?

Because you used a strain of yeast that is not very flocculant. It's perfectly normal and often desired in weizens.
