Clearly, gluten free beer is our bag in this forum. I tried scrounging around, and I'm afraid to hear this, but.... are there places that malt additional grains besides barley? I'm wondering if there are companies that malt grains like buckwheat, quinoia, amaranth etc. that you can buy instead of malting your own. Preferably a variety of grain/'specialty grain' besides just the syrup (like sorghum).

My thought is that such a place doesn't exist. But, I wanted to hear from people in this forum first. I tried searching to see if this posts already existed, I figured it should, but I haven't found anything yet.

You might try checking with Colorado malting. They malted several different varieties of millet that were made available to commercial brewers. I don't know if they have any left you might check.

Their website is down but I checked out their facebook page and it does seem like they will eventually be attempting to offer malted gluten free grains. This is exciting news! Are there any other locations available?
