These have a thin felt-like inside that would work great isolating your hands from the 150F+ water as you work your mozzarella. They were in the home goods aisle (soap, cleaning supplies, etc).

Yea, I'm not really sure about that. There were several materials available for these gloves. If you're interested, just have a look.
(to be fully honest, I really don't pay much attention to "food safe" unless I'm actually eating it, but I know that's a thing for some).
