So I just busted my flask on the stove so I am worried about glass, so I'm just wondering who uses plastic test jars, they are relatively the same price. Are their any cons?

Plastic holds wort for testing. It is less prone to breaking. You should not return the wort anyway so plastic contacting the wort is not an issue.

Go with the plastic.

Can be scratched my metal. Probably not dishwasher safe. That's all I can think of but I just hand wash mine after use and spray with starsan.
All my long tools are stored vertically in a jar.
Mash whisk, thief, autosiphon, hydrometer in plastic tube with cotton balls on biyh ends to keep it from breaking, and test jar over it, also something else that I can't remember.
