Hey guys looking for a little advice here. I have heard that there are chemicals in a garden hose that can affect taste of water. Would anyone advise against putting a filter on a garden hose for brewing purposes. I have drank water out of the hose for years, haven't we all. But is there anything in said water that could foul a brew thanks in advance

Get your self a rv water hose that is safe for potable water. any big box store will carry them.

Here's what I use (and like):

This filter - http://www.amazon.com/Camco-40043-TastePURE-Flexible-Protector/dp/B0006IX87S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1379985920&sr=8-6&keywords=camco

and this hose- http://www.amazon.com/Camco-22783-Reinforced-Fresh-Water/dp/B004ME11FS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1379985960&sr=8-4&keywords=camco+hose

Add a plastic hose shut-off valve to the end so you don't have to run back and forth to your hose outlet.

I also add 1/2 of a Campden tab per 5 gallon batch since my city uses chloramines in addition to chlorine.
